2 minutes Sabahan lesson

Monday, October 12, 2015
It's been awhile.

I haven't posted much. I'm sorry. I keep having writer's block, like I was literally dried up with ideas. Anyway, recently my boyfriend asked me to speak Sabah for him. And for those of you who don't know, yes, I'm Sabahan. I just prefer to talk either in formal Malay or English. Don't ask me why. Shout out to all my Sabahan followers lol. As I was saying, I think he just gave me an idea to update my blog. So, without any further ado. Let's jump right in.

#1: First things first, you simply cannot put the word "bah" anywhere you want in your sentences. For example: "Kau mau makan kah bah?" TEEEETTT. WRONG.

#2: Instead of saying tumpang lalu, we say, limpas.

#3: The word buduh, bukan sejenis makanan orang Kelantan/ Terengganu (I'm confused). Buduh means stupid. Or every Sabahans personal favorite, palui.

#4: Tapuk-tapuk means sembunyi-sembunyi. Hide and seek! Kalau tak pernah main tapuk-tapuk, you're not a legend lol.

#5: Sumandak means beautiful girl.

#6: Giuk means ulat. Hahaha. And you don't like giuk in your mango, don't you? :p

#7: Bubut-bubut means kejar-kejar. We like to play bubut-bubut we were younger!

That's all I can came up with. I'm sure I missed a few good Sabahan.. Slang? I would say? Oh my God, I'm literally a bad Sabahan hahaha. I hope you learned something hehe. Okay guys, talk to you real soon!

  2. Banyak yg hampir sama dengan perkataan Sarawak. Kalau kat daerah saya, "limpas" tuu lalu. Kalau tumpang lalu pulak "singkir"

Palui tuu pun ada gak. Tapi "paloi"

And tapuk. Sama lah.. Sembunyi. Hehe

    Anyway, thanks for share ^^
