It's not that I have a major writer's block, it's just so hard to put my thoughts into words these days. I get distracted so easily, so whenever I'm about to write a new post my house mates are always there to distract me. Sorry not sorry.

Or is it I'm not opinionated as per always? Lol I don't know.

Blogging Slump And How I Get Rid Of It

Wednesday, February 15, 2017

Hi everyone! Oh. My. God. It's been such a long time since I last posted. The past weeks have been quite busy but I also need to admit it was due to minor laziness that this blog went abandoned for quite some time. I might be dramatic but life and school literally has no mercy on me. Really. I had tons of post ideas in my head, but...

  • Life gets in the way. What can I say. Life gets in the way 24/7 and you do know blogging is something that takes time. It take lots of it.
  • Too much pressure. I have to admit that I sometimes feel like I have to blog, as if it were a job or a chore. It just makes the whole thing become less fun. I keep making those "I don't feel like blogging" or "I'm not in the mood today" excuses, you know what I'm saying. This is not a good sign.
  • I feel like I have not good enough post ideas. Although I have tons of them in my head, I keep thinking "Does it worthy to talk about?" or "Will someone actually read it?" until I have come to the level where I overthink about it. It's just a post BTW.
  • Not having enough time. This is legit one of the biggest reasons why I have fallen into a huge slump. Sometimes life gets really busy and when that just continuously happens, there is just not enough time to blog.
Now you know why I have fallen into a big blogging slump. However, there are always ways to escape from the slump and make it up to my dearest blog because I abandoned it. I actually like to...

  • Read blogs that inspire me. For this part, I have to say Bloglovin' is the answer. Haha. Nothing new. Even if I don't feel like blogging, looking at other posts that I like somehow helped me to get my blogging mojo back. Bloggers like Nicole from The Glam Surge, Jasmine from Jasmine Talks Beauty , Erin from Make Erin Over and Erin (again) from Erin Azmir are definitely my huge inspiration! Not only they have the coolest and prettiest theme, they also have tons of killer posts.
  • Take a break. Honestly speaking, taking a break from blogging is 100% okay. Sometimes I get a little too overwhelmed, exhausted and I just don't have the right time. I used to be worried about taking a break from blogging (well, up until now actually), but I don't have to push myself sososooo much. It's very okay to take break.
  • Make a list. Okay this is new. You guys might find this weird but I do list down the things that I love about blogging  in my little notebook because I want to focus and zoom in on the bright side of it. It actually helped me to enjoy blogging once again! I love making lists and once I'm done I will read them over and over until I get all giddy again. Then, and only then my brain can function and blogging again.
  • Try and find new post ideas. If I don't want to work on my drafts, I will simply Google and try to find awesome blog post ideas so that I get inspired and motivated. #GoogleIsMyBestFriend
  • Push myself but not too much. At the end of the day, I still have to push myself a bit too. However, I don't want blogging to become a chore or a hateful reminder of something I have to do. I do pushed myself (like what I'm doing now) but I'm not giving my 100% effort in it. I mean I still have to put up a new content on my blog or else people might think I'm dead.

Have you ever fallen into a blogging slump? How did you escape from it? Tell me in the comments!

The Body Shop Spa of The World Dead Sea Salt Scrub

Friday, February 03, 2017
In today's post, you will be reading my The Body Shop Spa of The World Dead Sea Salt Scrub review (that's a long name!) This range is intended to provide us the feeling of luxury upon a day in a spa but in the comfort of our homes. So fancy! It also draws on some of the highest quality ingredients that you may not have used before. Juicy! So, what to love about this product? Let's dive in!

First things first, let's talk about the packaging shall we? You can definitely see that The Body Shop has upped their packaging game. The packaging looks very luxurious and it feels luxurious to touch. Not just this baby right here, but all the products in this line be having lit packaging! A+ for packaging. The container is a plastic with the feels of a higher quality plastic and the gold detail on the packaging just adds more high quality for the packaging. Besides, who doesn't love gold? Oh did I mention that the tub was huge? It's massive! This stuff will last a long while.

This salt scrub is not like ordinary salt scrub or at least the ones I have tried before. Not too many scrubs have floated my boat as a lot of them are 'gentle' to me. I like my scrub to be definitely scrubby and this one fits the bill. You can tell that the size of the salt is seriously on the larger side.

This sea salt scrub is thick and creamy! My arms and legs feel so moisturizing and super hydrating, I don't feel the need to moisturize afterwards. I love that a little product can go a long way and after I'm done and wash it off, I don't feel greasy in the least but my skin has this supple feeling and almost glowy! I'm addicted to it. However, if you ever want to use this scrub I recommend using it in the shower after you do a bit of showering because this stuff is quite messy.

Oh I almost forgot about the fragrance! Bear in mind that this baby is quite perfumed. It has a strong but nice scent kinda smells like you are in a luxurious spa but it's not obnoxious or whatnot. I actually like that my towel smells like the scrub.

PROS
  • Super moisturizing
  • Not heavily greasy or oily
  • Skin feels soft and smooth for days
  • A little goes a long way
  • Last a long while
  • Nice scent

CONS
  • Its massive container can be a little not travel-friendly
  • Some may find that this product is quite expensive but it's worth it and it will last a long while and it's made from the highest quality ingredients

WHO WILL ENJOY THIS
  • Anyone who has dry skin mostly on the arm and leg area
  • Anyone who loves products that are well scented
  • Anyone who enjoys body oil or body cream

PRICE
  • MYR160 (price may vary at certain places or online)

AVAILABILITY
  • All The Body Shop stores near you
  • Online (link)

OVERALL

This is a lovely scrub even though I don't really use it that much, I only use it once a week. Even so, my skin feels super supple and hydrated for days! I'm loving it and I'm going to continue using it but as of now I'm not thinking about repurchasing it, maybe I won't but we will see.

Have you tried this sea salt scrub? Have you tried anything from this range? What are your thoughts about it and what else you would recommend?

Five Things in January

Monday, January 30, 2017
January wasn't a bad month. Though I'm quite unsure whether to call it good either. Good things happened, I might add but myeh. Maybe bittersweet is appropriate. I just couldn't describe January in just five moments. I was certainly not ready for January but I tried. Plus, I didn't do much so this could be a disaster Five Things post lol let's go for it.

Here is my Five Things in January

01. I have been slacking.

Admittedly, I have fallen into a slump. It's not that I dislike blogging. Blogging is fun, it's just I haven't blogged the past weeks and I think mostly because of the atmosphere has changed here in blogging world. Or is it just me? You might not understand but it doesn't entice me at all. I do checked my blog every single day, I read emails but rarely reply them and same goes to the comments.

I hope I can get my blogging mojo back. You know what, blogging honestly can be such a hassle and at times overwhelming if you are not in the mood. Or again, is it just me?

02. Such a sweet tooth once again.

So, I got this subject in school where it requires everyone to sell something. It doesn't matter what you are up to as long as you can reach the profit target of MYR50 in just a month. Me and my friends decided to go for brownies! Oh. My. Goodness. I'm not trying to brag or whatsoever but it tastes sososooo good you guys!

Everyone who knows me, knows I don't like chocolate. I'm fine with chocolate flavored drinks but desserts that I'm pretty sure 80 percent of the ingredients is chocolate are no no for me. This, however, makes me want to eat it all day errday! This could potentially be my every day meal. I'm not in my sweet tooth phase for a looong time already but I couldn't resist this one. This is for the win.

03. New pair of contacts!

Finally a new pair of contact lens. I have been wearing the same contacts that I did review here on my blog. You can read it here. If you are thinking of a review about this new contacts, I can work on it but surely not this week, or next week, or the other week. Lol please bear with me. Overall, I'm loving it so far. The enlargement is perfect and slightly natural looking type of contacts. We can talk more about this in a separate post, aye!

04. Hate hitting pan on most of my makeup.

I don't even know why I'm hitting pan on most of my makeup. Well, I should know. I wear them every day, that's why. But why they decided to hit pan almost at the same time? I actually hate hitting pan on my makeup. Who's with me? I can get anxiety out of it, I know it sounds dramatic like our mother but that's the truth gurl. And since I'm on the mission of saving money this year, that means more anxiety to come. Even 10 dollar is already flipping expensive to me lol.

05. Instagram live is so fun!

Don't get me wrong, I didn't even start the whole shebang. However, I came across a lot of people on Instagram who started this Insta live being really fun. I enjoyed it most of the time. Especially those who shared their skincare routine or makeup routine! Ahh so satisfying to watch. I know I'm a weirdo.

So, I came across this steward's Instagram live and watched his skincare routine from the scratch and I was so mesmerized. I have been wondering all this years how come he has such a flawless skin, now I know.

I guess that's all I have to say for now. I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful day ahead.

How was your January? Do you have exciting things going on? Or just a plain boring like mine? Let me know! x

Brow Routine: My Idea Of Perfect Brows

Saturday, January 14, 2017
I have come to believe that brows aren't easy to do and much more complicated than most people think. It takes a lot of practice and patience to master the 'perfect brows'. Actually, it only takes a few simple steps. I always getting asked about my brows, how I do them and getting compliments etc. I don't have so much brow hairs to be honest and I feel so insecure whenever I go out and not getting them done. I used to hate my brows but when I started to play with makeup, I know makeup will be my best friend. And I looked up tons of tutorials of how to get them done and I just practice, practice, practice.

So I thought I would finally give you a step by step of how I get them done and give you guys some tips and tricks maybe. Here it goes!

Step #1: Brush them up
First things first, I will brush them eyebrow hairs in an upward motion with a spoolie brush. I usually do this step to see where they need filling in and from there I will notice where I have to trim and pluck. And this brings to my second step.

Step #2: Pluck them stray hairs
I'm a huge believer that if you don't 'clean' your brows, all those hard works are useless, honey boo. So I will always tweeze my stray hairs to make it appear 'clean'. I'm won't go too cray-cray with the tweezers, they simply giving a clean start. Beauty is pain, gurl. However, it's not that painful. Once you start plucking your brows regularly, you will soon get used to the pain and your eyes won't water as much. My tip is begin by identifying the stray hairs and quickly pull in the direction that they grow. That way, it will be less painful.

Step #3: Shading them brows
The trick when shading the brow is not to start at the front brow. If you do that, you will end up with a harsh, blocky and square brow that looks far from natural. So the tip is to begin at the center of the brow and use a fine eyebrow pencil like the one I'm using, which is the Silkygirl Expert Brow Slim Liner. It's amazing! Okay, next I will fill them in using short strokes. That way I have more control and them brows will appear natural-looking.

Step #4: Powder them up
Maybelline Fashion Brow 3D Brow and Nose Palette is the eyebrow powder that I swear by. Definitely my favorite. I use an angled brush and dip the brush into the powder and very lightly powder them brows to add definition. The brush provided is freaking small and very hard to hold. So I just go with my own brush. It's easier that way. This step must be done with a very light hand because Sharpie brow is a no no.

Step #5: Brush, brush, brush
Brush through with the spoolie brush again to blend the pencil and powder together and to soften any harsh lines. However, if I'm not happy with it, I will continue to the next step.

Step #6: Clean up with concealer
This is actually an option. Sometimes I will just skip this step especially when I'm in a hurry. But if I really into my brows, I will clean the edges using concealer and apply it with a small flat brush. I will go around the brows to clean them and make it 'on fleek!' lol. All the things we do for brows. I figured that this step is actually useful for those who are afraid to pluck their stray hairs! Oh gurl, don't you worry. Concealer will definitely conceal them shady situation up there so you don't have to commit to the pain of plucking your eyebrows.

Step #7: Set them brows
Finally, the last step! I will finish everything with a brow gel. The one I'm using is from Benefit Gimme Brow. It's one of the best brow gel I have ever encounter. The brush is very small and precise and perfect for the brow hairs that I don't really have because I'm lacking in that department. It also lasts the whole day, maybe more. You know what, it's always better if you set your brows because you never know what kind of day you will go through, so brow gel definitely helps you to make your brows stay put and lasts the whole day.

And voila, there you have it. There isn't that much to achieve the beautiful and 'perfect brows' that you see all over Instagram. As you can see, I'm using very basic products that probably everyone is using and can be find at most drugstore. Anyway, that's it for today! I really hope that you enjoyed this post and that maybe it also helped you.

What are your tips for getting the 'perfect brows'? What are the products in your eyebrow routine you swear by? Let me know! xx
